Established in 2015 in San Ysidro by owner Priscilla Curiel, Tuetano Taqueria made its name with its signature birria-style tacos topped with bone marrow. The Michelin-recognized restaurant has topped many more essential foodie lists over the years as Curiel relocated the business from the Border to Old Town in 2021.

Now Tuetano Taqueria will reportedly wrap up service this month at Old Town Urban Market, where it served a combination menu with its seafood-focused concept Mar Rustico.

Two former retail spaces on Chula Vista’s busy Third Avenue will serve as the new flagship location of Tuetano Taqueria along with Mujer Divina’s long-awaited second cafe. Mujer Divina currently operates in National City, effortlessly pairing homestyle burritos with Mexican-inspired coffee drinks and signature lattes.

Tuetano Taqueria and Mujer Divina will reportedly open in Chula Vista in Early 2024. Follow Tuetano Taqueria on Instagram for updates on the relocation.
