What Now San Diego spoke with Owner Marcos Luciano who shared a brief history lesson behind the concept. The restaurant namesake honors the Irish people, San Patricios, who fought alongside Mexican forces in the Mexican-American War in 1847. With the nod to the connection between the two countries, Luciano explains, “We’re combining the two cultures to serve Irish/Mexican cuisine in an Irish Bar and Cantina.”

Their menu skillfully combines traditional Irish pub fare with Mexican Cantina flair. Their lunch menu includes Irish Mussels steamed in cider with bacon sauce. Alongside gourmet tacos and salads, you’ll also find classic Irish dishes like Corned Beef and Cabbage or Shepherds Pie.

The Patricios menu will start small as they prepare to soft open October 29th. The restaurant is planning to extend their menu with Happy Hour and Late-Night options in November. Stay tuned for more information coming soon to their Website and Instagram
