Co-owners of an SD local sweets company Daphne and Dennis Daung have big summer plans. The pair are in the process of elevating All Things Ube. Established in 2018, All Things Ube is a dessert company that offers delivery and pick-up, currently without a storefront location. The company partakes in occasional pop-ups at events and places like San Diego’s The Night Market, Miralani Makers’ District, and Otay Ranch Farmer’s Market.

All Things Ube, if you hadn’t guessed, specializes in desserts made with ube, or a kind of bright purple yam that’s often used for flavoring and coloring in confections. The company creates cookies, cheesecake, tarts, and more. You can even get your hands on their popular Ube Cinnamon Rolls this Saturday at The Night Market.

So what exactly is changing for the company? All Things Ube is working on its very own storefront.

Permit intel recently obtained by What Now San Diego shows the company will “make improvements” for a dessert shop. The work will include plumbing and electrical and work on a restroom. The storefront renovations are taking place at the company’s home base, 8680 Miralani Drive.

What’s more, 8680 Miralani Drive is part of San Diego’s Miralani Makers’ District. According to the district’s website, “the Miralani Makers’ District is a unique collection of craft beverage producers located in the heart of San Diego’s Miramar district since 2013.” It goes on, “In addition to refreshing libations and easy relaxation, the Miralani Makers’ District has a number of artisanal and fine food producers you can enjoy in any tasting room you choose.” That means those sweets don’t have to be enjoyed alone.

According to All Things Ube’s website, the storefront is ‘coming soon.’ Follow the shop’s social media for updates.
