After recently celebrating their first year at their Garnet Avenue restaurant in Pacific Beach, Our Green Affair is gearing up to open a second location at Lomas Santa Fe Plaza in Solana Beach. Sisters Jeanette and Jackie Gaistman have built their brand on making healthy food desirable.

Owner Jeanette Gaistman broke it down to What Now San Diego, “Something we try to focus on is rebranding what healthy food means. Not just eating because you know it’s good for you. Our branding is a lot sexier, and raunchy, and kinky.” Their menu items have cheeky names like Hot Chick, Seize Her, and Shake your Cauliflower (with UnDressing, wink wink).

This isn’t your hippie or bland health food store, there is fun in ordering a salad. “Sex sells, so if we refocus on having fun then a customer might come in and want to order the Thai Me Up because of the name,” says Gaistman.

Much like the Garnet Ave location, Solana Beach will feature Build-Your-Own Salads, Signature Flavored Waters, and Instagrammable moments. Their neon signs are fresh with flirty sayings and the “Peep Show” see-through fridge allows customers to see all their favorite ingredients in their au naturel state.

The sister owners are excited to expand to the new site, allowing each of them to divide and conquer at one location each. Jeanette Gaistman shares the restaurants will be a lot like them, “Sisters but not twins.” With San Diego backlogged with permit requests, Our Green Affair is expecting to open in early 2022. “Our target audience is active and Solana Beach is going to be a great second home.”

Find the menu and more on Our Green Affair at their Website and Instagram. Their original location is open at 980 Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach.
