Husband and wife team Klin and Ai Sritong are blending their professional backgrounds operating Thai restaurants and fun dessert shops to open a fast-casual restaurant that matches the PB energy.

“We’re keeping the fried chicken theme in the space but we’re trying to add a little fun,” co-owner Klin Sritong tells What Now San Diego. The brand’s personality shows through in its skateboarding chicken logo, now blasted on the side of the building.

Sritong shares that much of the inspiration for Yum Zab has come from Southern Thai cuisine, putting their own spin on yum salad and jumping on the Korean-style fried chicken craze with chicken tossed in sauce.

While the menu is still being developed, guests can look forward to build-your-own rice bowls, featuring your choice of fried chicken or poke, with versatile dressings and sauces.

Yum Zab is expected to open in late August. Follow Yum Zab on Instagram for an official opening announcement.
