Late last month, What Now San Diego covered the opening of Laylah’s Jamaican Restaurant in the form of a ghost kitchen in the Barrio Food Hub, the new food hall in Barrio Logan. The expansion, called Awesome Jamaican Jerk & Wings, has just announced its grand opening.

The ghost kitchen, owned and operated by Lila Makram, will open this Friday, July 30th at 2707 Boston Ave.

Just last week San Diego’s newest Jamaican Jerk eatery shared their menu on Instagram. It comes complete with Jerk Chicken, Jerk Pork, Laylah’s Jerk Fries, and Jerk Chicken & Waffles, just to name a few items. And we haven’t even gotten to the A La Carte section.

Awesome Jamaican Jerk also recently Instagrammed their Jerk Rasta Pasta, a penne pasta tossed in their signature Jerk cheese sauce, topped with boneless Jerk chicken or Jerk pork and drizzled with their house jerk sauce—it’s something you won’t want to miss. Oh, and if you want to go meatless (it’s cool, we won’t judge you), the pasta comes topped with fried plantains.
