Founded by YouTuber Philip Wang and business partner Eric Wang, Bopomofo opened their first cafe in San Gabriel in 2019. In March of this year, a second Bopomofo Cafe opened in Artesia.

Embracing the culture of boba tea shops while getting creative with food, Bopomofo’s menu is designed to bring together Chinese and American flavors. The brand is also committed to sustainability, using environmentally friendly cups and straws.

Guests can expect to find zero processed syrups, powder creamers, or artificial flavors. Instead Bopomofo hand makes all ingredients, and uses real milk and Califia Oat Milk. Signature beverages by Bopomofo include their Watermelon Oat Milk, Brown Sugar Pudding Milk Tea, Mint Matcha Latte, and Orange Wang. Their food menu brings together Chinese favorites mixed with American classics like Taiwanese Fried Chicken, Mapo Tots, and a Honey Walnut Shrimp Burger.

What Now San Diego reached out to Bopomofo Cafe for an opening timeline and will update as more information is available. For now, follow Bopomofo Cafe on Instagram and visit their Website for a peek at their menu.
