The Forum Carlsbad, an outdoor lifestyle shopping center operated by Northwood Retail welcomed Nike by La Costa, Alo Yoga and McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams to its tenant portfolio. The center is situated on the corner of Calle Barcelona and Leucadia Blvd. in Carlsbad.

“We believe that all these incredible new locations fulfill and fit the needs of the North County market,” said Ward Kampf, president of Northwood Retail in a statement. “Nike is the greatest direct-to-consumer brand and one of the top retailers in the world, while Alo transcends categories, has been phenomenally successful, and is highly regarded by contemporary, bridge and luxury tenants. Santa Barbara-based McConnell’s is a premier ice cream purveyor in the U.S. with its own dairy farm – it’s authentic with a wide reach.”

Nike by La Costa 

Nike by La Costa, now open in a 6,008-square-foot space located at the corner near Urban Outfitters and across from Sur La Table, is a retail Live concept that offers a curated assortment of sport performance apparel, footwear, and accessories. Nike by La Costa celebrated its opening with a two-day in-store event followed by a complementary community run including a pre-run stretch in The Forum Carlsbad’s Garden Area with Stretch Lab and a run through the La Costa area. Runners were invited back to the Garden Area for refreshments, bracelet-making and a post-run stretch. 

Alo Yoga

Alo Yoga is a lifestyle brand and leader in activewear promoting a studio-to-street mentality that transcends fashion and goes beyond the mat. The retailer, located between Johnny Was and Madewell in a 5,502-square-foot space, celebrated its Carlsbad grand opening with a ribbon cutting, in-store acroyoga demonstrations, a live DJ, beverages and a free gift with purchase.

McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams

Opening in September

McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams, set to open this September next to Geppetto’s in a 1,006-square-foot space, makes its ice creams from scratch, using Central Coast grass-grazed milk and cream, and high quality local, sustainable and organic ingredients from partner farms and purveyors. The 70-years of craft has resulted in dense and pure flavors, with smooth, consistent texture and a rich, velvety feel.
