The hotel’s parent company Dovetail + Co purchased the hotel in 2021 and is in the process of making updates to reintroduce the boutique hotel as Palihotel San Diego

Built in 1913, the 99-room, eleven-story hotel will feature stylishly redesigned rooms described as “preppy-meets-nautical.” The Palihotel is said to keep its historic appeal, highlighting a new restaurant, an updated rooftop to catch the best views of the city, and immersing guests in Downtown San Diego’s lively neighborhoods with the hotel’s close proximity to nightlife and tourist attractions.

Saint James French Diner will offer the simplicity of a roadside diner with the subtle luxury of a French Bistro. The hotel’s in-house restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch with a hearty but straightforward menu. The website sets the table as, “It’s shared mussels and a beer in the afternoon and it’s a burger and two martinis at night.”

Palihotel is in the process of hiring for many new roles in its latest hotel concept, including Chef de Cuisine and Food and Beverage Manager. Palihotel San Diego promises a Spring 2023 opening and is currently accepting room reservations beginning May 1st. Follow on Instagram for more and visit their Website for a preview of the upgraded rooms.
