Marco Fontana, Fabio Speziali, and Antonino Mastellone, the owners of South Park and Del Sur’s Piacere Mio, have a new venture in the works.

SanDiegoVille reports the Carlsbad Village space, last occupied by Caldo Pomodoro, will house a new eatery, but the concept is still a bit of a mystery. It appears the eatery could be a third Piacere Mio, a sister restaurant, or something altogether else. Speziali declined to comment, noting it is too soon to tell what exactly the new concept will be.

Only a few blocks inland from Carlsbad State Beach, the eatery, as of yet unnamed, will sit on the corner of Grand Ave and State St.

If the new spot is anything like Piacere Mio, you can expect authentic Italian food in the form of  handmade pasta, seafood plates, antipasti, and more. The pasta is made fresh in-house, and I have to say, looks phenomenal.

The new eatery will have indoor and outdoor seating and is expected to open by the end of the year.
