New Tropical Themed Restaurant Coming Soon to Third Avenue Village

Lime in the Coconut is expected to debut in Chula Vista’s Third Avenue Village. From Owners Kevin Rhodes and Christianne Penunuri that brought us Groundswell Brewing, the new tropical oasis will replace Mangia Italiano on Third which closed in 2021.

Their social media describes the concept as “permanent vacation vibes” and will feature tropical cocktails, Pacific Island cuisine, and rum-based tiki drinks. 

They most recently gave a sneak peek of their cuisine during the Taste of Third event, spotlighting a menu of island-themed creations by Executive Chef Jeremy Galapon. Guests were treated to tasters of Fried Spam Musubi Balls with a sweet soy and ginger aioli, and Salt and Pepper Tofu bites. 

Reports say Lime in the Coconut is expected to celebrate a grand opening in four months, just in time for Summer. Give them a follow on Instagram for updates.
