Two years in the making, Dark Horse Coffee Roasters South County outpost is closer to opening doors. Dark Horse announced in 2020 that coffee shop number 8 is headed for Third Avenue in Downtown Chula Vista.
The cafe will join the property by Smiser Family Properties, Inc. labeled THIRDandF which includes a variety of office spaces and restaurants. The Dark Horse team states in reply to an Instagram comment, “it’s coming! Custom furniture is currently being built and the last of the equipment is about to be ordered.”
Dark Horse currently operates seven locations in San Diego, La Mesa, plus spots in Orange County and Kaui, Hawaii. Their most recent cafe opened in South Park in 2021. San Diegans will soon have more options to grab Cold Brew, Matcha Lattes, and vegan donuts further South.
