La Bruja Doctora LLC, led by Zack and Kyle McKenzie, recently submitted a liquor license application to open the new bar in the former home of New Metro Realty. While there is not much information to be shared at this point, Zack McKenzie tells What Now San Diego that he expects to open sometime in Fall 2024. Witch Doctor will offer a little something for everything, according to the company’s Instagram, which mentions there will be coffee, tea, vermut, natural wine, flowers, goods, and happy endings.

This will be an excellent location for this new business, considering there is immense foot traffic within Little Italy from all the restaurants. While there are plenty of places to eat in the area and a handful of breweries, there are only a few bars Witch Doctor will have to compete with, including Bar One and M Winehouse. The new elixir joint will become the go-to drinking spot on Kettner Boulevard, especially after the closure of VinoCorso.

When Witch Doctor opens, it will sit on the ground floor of an apartment complex building, sharing the building with Bobbi Rocco, Autumn Houston The Salon, Pilates Room Studios San Diego Lena Nails, The Little Italy Barbery, and Tea Bazaar. Since there are no other food or drink options in the area until you pass West Fir Street, this new bar will likely be the closest spot for many of these apartment residents and nearby business employees, making it another reason this will be an excellent spot for its debut.
