This is the latest from Blue Ridge Hospitality, which also operates Village Pizzeria, Stake Chophouse, Little Frenchie, and MooTime Creamery, all within Coronado, according to Eater San Diego. The Avenue Fish & Oyster Company, which pays homage to two historic venues in Coronado that are no longer in operation, will move into the former home of The Islander following its recent closure after two years. The new restaurant is expected to open in January 2025, next to MooTime Creamery.

Since 1998, Blue Bridge Hospitality has continued to advance the hospitality landscape by taking a local and innovative approach to the culinary and dining scene. In addition to the four concepts in Coronado, the restaurant group also owns Liberty Public Market, San Diego’s first public market. The group will open The Avenue Fish & Oyster Company with veteran chef Paul Arias and Blue Bridge corporate chef Matt Sramek. Customers can expect seafood from local vendors, oysters from around the world, and seasonal ingredients. There will be a robust cocktail menu and an impressive wine list.

“Each of our distinct concepts are chef-driven and led by our experienced team of chefs, working closely with local farmers and purveyors to craft the perfect seasonal menu,” according to the company’s website. “Our mission throughout every restaurant and concept stays the same, maintaining our firm commitment to food and service. “
