The new refilling station announced on social media earlier this year that it had received funding and would move forward with its planning. The market will reportedly offer a mix of dried goods, fresh produce, and grocery staples, available for refill in reusable packaging.
“At Sunshine Market & Refillery, we are doing our part to eliminate single-use plastics from our landfills. We not only provide amazing products, but a guilt-free alternative for your everyday essentials,” shares owner Kathrine Hayden on the business’s website.
Zero-waste stores like Sunshine Market are gaining popularity, joining the likes of local stores like Local Scoop in Encinitas, The Mighty Bin in North Park, and Kai’s Refills in La Mesa.
