Anthony Wells has worked closely in the San Diego food scene for the past nine years at Juniper & Ivy, where he started working as a chef de cuisine before being promoted to executive chef the following year. The James Beard Award semifinalist was recently announced as the executive chef of Hotel La Jolla, Curio Collection by Hilton, and will lead a team to open a new restaurant on the penthouse level, according to the hotel’s website.

The new Sea & Sky restaurant is a part of the hotel’s multi-million-dollar property renovation. When the restaurant opens early next year, customers can expect delicious food focusing on seasonal and regional California cuisine with beautiful views of La Jolla. Aimbridge Hospitality will continue to operate the 110-room hotel, which opened 50 years ago.

“Hotel La Jolla has collaborated with Taste & Theory Restaurant Group to concept a menu celebrating the best of the Pacific Coast and Baja Peninsula’s farms, fields and seas,” according to the restaurant’s website. “The menu will focus on quality regional ingredients with simply elegant presentations and offer an innovative drink menu with regional California and Valle de Guadalupe wines, as well as handcrafted cocktails with ingredients from around the world.”
