Originating in Japan, the Round1 has been in operation since 1980 and opened its first US location in Southern California in 2010. The business has grown to operate over 50 entertainment centers in the US.

While the nearest Round1 location to San Diego is currently in Temecula, their website shares that its business is projecting to add 10-15 locations annually. A quick peek at the location map shows new Southern California sites are coming soon to Plaza Bonita and an arcade-only spot at The Shops at Mission Viejo.

Round1 amusement centers feature bowling, interactive arcade games, Kids Zone play areas, karaoke, and billiards. Their locations feature games capturing the latest technology coming from manufacturers in Japan, plus Round1’s signature Spo-Cha area. Spo-Cha, aka Sports Challenge, is an indoor sports challenge with batting cages, dedicated areas for trampoline play, and even hoverboard rides.

To keep guests fully fueled for all the games and activities under their roof, Round1’s on-site food offerings include pizza, wings, shareable appetizers like mozzarella sticks and chicken tenders, and most locations serve draft beer and wine on-site.

A representative for Round 1 could not be reached for an update on the timeline for opening in National City. Check out their website for location features and follow on Facebook for updates.
