If you’ve recently walked by The Heights on the base floor of the Broadstone Little Italy, you’ve noticed it is closed with a sign that reads “Roman Wolves Cucina Romana Coming Soon.” San Diego Dining Group, led by Sicilian-born chef Vincenzo Loverso, has decided to rebrand the 4,000-square-foot space into a new concept with an onsite speakeasy, according to SanDiegoVille. Roman Wolves Cucina Romana is expected to open in early 2024.

San Diego Dining Group’s portfolio already includes several impressive local restaurants, including Greystone Prime Steakhouse and Seafood, Breakfast & Bubbles, Allegro, Farmer’s Table, Panevino Tuscan Food Themes, Saltwater Fine Dining Cuisine, The Butcher’s Cut Steakhouse, and more. The new concept will be Italian-focused, featuring a menu centered around modern shareable plates and other entrees. Roman Wolves Cucina Romana will also have plenty of beer and wine.

The group secured leases on two Little Italy properties last spring, including the former Cafe Gratitude building and the space previously occupied by Carruth Cellars Wine Garden, each a half mile from the other. The Heights opened last summer, but it took less than a year before the restaurant group realized the space could be used for better purposes.
