A family-owned and veteran-owned brewery, husband-and-wife founders Sean and Cory Haggerty brought all-organic beers to San Diego in 2017 with a brewing facility and tasting room located at the Miralani Makers District in Miramar.

Protector Brewery is filling the need for a craft-focused tasting room along the waterfront, providing tourist access to some of San Diego’s finest beers. The new taproom will install at a ground-floor unit at the BRIC at InterContinental San Diego.

The site is ripe for attracting locals and tourists alike, with Lane Field Park outside its doors which hosts weekly farmers markets, plus the nearby hotel guests, and its close proximity to various tourist attractions and cruise ship terminals on Harbor.

Early art renderings show a modern taproom and bar adorned with Protector’s signature helmet logo, with covered patio seating, communal tables inside, and beers-to-go on display.

Working with USDA-certified organic ingredients and EPA-certified brewing chemicals, Protector’s core beers include the San Diego Hazy IPA, Warfighter Double Dry Hopped Hazy IPA, and a Lite Lager. Protector has yet to fill in details for its food element to pair with its certified organic beers but will reportedly offer pizzas, salads, and shareable options for guests.

Protector Brewery BRIC is expected to open by Early 2024. For more information and updates, follow Protector Brewery on Instagram
