National City’s new public market and community space, Market on 8th, is already overflowing with good eats. What Now San Diego previously covered Moe Coffee and SERBESA’s move to the South Bay food hub; now we’re happy to report Pizza Kaiju, a pop-up pizzeria, will join the crowd.

Pizza Kaiju, currently trackable via social media and website announcements sharing the next pop-up time and date (psst August 28, 12PM to sell out, at 5&A Dime in SD), will open a brick-and-mortar location this year in National City’s Market on 8th. The eatery slings square pies, or sheet pizzas, that you can currently order a head of time. And you’ll definitely want to follow Pizza Kaiju’s Instagram for a sneak peek at the weekly special.

“Our goal is to give the community of National City a local spot that provides the best of what San Diego has to offer,” shares the public market’s website. “Market on 8th will be the place where locals and visitors can bond over a cold beer, enjoy gourmet coffee and exciting eats, hang out, relax or even get some work done.” Market on 8th has yet to announce an opening date, but you can sign up for updates on its grand opening here.
