South Korea’s Pelicana Chicken is looking to make their debut in San Diego. According to their website, the chicken chain is planning to replace Dippin’ Cajun Seafood on Balboa Avenue in Kearny Mesa

Established in 1982 in Daejeon, South Korea, Pelicana Chicken landed in the United States in 2014. Their website shows their global coverage with 28 locations in the US and counting, plus Canada, China, the UK, and many more. 

What Now Los Angeles shares the brand continues to expand in Southern California, with locations in Downey plus more in the works in LA and City of Industry. Their new location in Kearny Mesa marks their first in San Diego County. 

Pelicana Chicken is known for their straightforward menu of fried chicken baskets, chicken sandwiches, and wings tossed in their signature sauces ranging in spice level. On the side, Pelicana offers fried cheese balls, stir-fried Ddukbokki, and Sea Snail Spicy Salad.
