Napatini Bistro and Wine Bar celebrated their grand opening in Carlsbad. Specializing in California wine on tap, the interactive bar is located at the base of a mixed-use development called State and Oak in Carlsbad Village.
Northern California natives turned San Diegans, Lynn and Gary McLean, have brought in technology from Enomatic wine systems from Italy to display their carefully curated bottles. The offerings at Napatini will update and rotate over time while spotlighting specific brands on a month-to-month basis for specialty flights and pairings.
What Now San Diego reported on Napatini back in 2021 but various renovations and supply chain delays set their opening goals into January 2023.
If you’re not a seasoned wine expert, their in-house sommelier and helpful wine ambassadors will guide you to an excellent choice. After setting up your tasting card, guests can use their card to access the self-serve wine wall with options from well-known wineries across Napa Valley, Sonoma, and Paso Robles. Choose from three pour options if you’d like to explore with just a splash of their various wines, or if you’d like to sit and relax with a full pour.
To pair with the plethora of wine styles, their food menu includes cheese and charcuterie boards, salads, flatbreads, and hearty entrees like Braised Beef Short Ribs and Salmon Filet.
Napatini will continue to offer interactive tasting events and a loyalty club for wine enthusiasts. On Wine Wednesdays, customers will be able to mingle with Wine Makers, receiving the full wine-tasting experience in-house. Guests can try tasting flights for their highlighted winery of the month or the “Wine Shoot-out,” which features three of the same styles in a blind tasting.
