Moniker Group has partnered with North Park’s newest mixed-use development to introduce another signature venue. Part coffeehouse, part retail shop, Moniker General Outpost is expected to join The Waldorf property on University Avenue.
The Waldorf brings new life to the 1950s-era Waldorf Television Building, a 12,000-square-foot, two-story property that previously housed the Last Real Gym.
Construction has commenced for the building’s revitalization which will feature eleven design-forward residential units, the Moniker-led cafe and shop, and a yet-to-be-announced restaurant.
The project is led by Nathan Cadieux of Purpose Real Estate Group acquired the property in 2022 and with the help of OBR Architecture and Moniker Design Studio will revive the building while keeping much of its original charm.
A North Park resident himself, Cadieux shares via press release, “We’re focused on delivering a well-designed, thoughtful property that brings together the local community.”
Moniker General Outpost will bring together Moniker Coffee Co. and Shop Moniker in the 2,000-square-foot space. Guests will be able to peruse Shop Moniker’s curated collection of apparel, personal care products, and home goods, while sipping on a Matcha Latte or Vanilla Mint Cold Brew.
“We’re thrilled to be expanding our family of brands into one of the city’s most distinctive urban neighborhoods,” says Moniker Group CEO Ryan Sisson in the project announcement. “North Park has a unique story, and we’re working diligently to capture that soul through Moniker General Outpost to offer a welcoming community space with convenience and seamless connection to the surrounding neighborhood.”
Moniker General Outpost is expected to start its buildout at the site in May, anticipating a Summer 2023 opening to coincide with the completion of The Waldorf’s renovation. For more information on Moniker Coffee Co. and Shop Moniker, visit the Moniker General Website.
