Aloha Ice Co., the family-owned food truck that serves up Handcrafted Hawaiian Shave Ice, appears to be going brick-and-mortar this year. Currently, the company aims to “bring the Aloha spirit to locations all over Southern CA” in the form of their truck, which is based in Carlsbad.

It seems, however, the family business is about to get a slightly more permanent address. Our leasing intel suggests the company recently signed a lease for a 1,029 square-foot retail space in the Carlsbad Submarket, suite 445. The company will take over the storefront this month.

At Aloha you can curate your own shave ice experience or get a little help from the experts. The menu offers no small variety of shave ice flavors, from cherry and red dragon, to guava, peach, wedding cake, and coconut. Ice cream and toppings like chocolate drizzle and sour spray can also be added. ‘Aloha Creations’ include ‘You Had Me At Aloha,’ a guava, passion fruit, mango, and pineapple special, and ‘Banana Split,’ which brings together strawberry, banana, butterscotch shave ice flavors with vanilla ice cream and a sweet cream and chocolate drizzle.

We were unable to reach co-owners Todd Breton and Noel Frohman at the time of publication, but it appears Aloha Ice Co.’s brick-and-mortar will be located mere blocks from Carlsbad City Beach, near the corner of Carlsbad Village Drive and State Street. (In the meantime, the company suggests you follow their social media to find out where they will be serving shave ice daily.)

I don’t know about you, but I can’t think of a better way to beat the summer heat.
