Two brunch powerhouses have come together to introduce another new concept in Hillcrest. Esca Blu is expected to take over the space formerly occupied by La Taverna on Fifth Avenue.
Swami’s owner, Jaime Osuna, and Cocina de Barrio Executive Chef and Co-owner, Jose Flores, have partnered on the new concept labeled as an Italian restaurant.
While few details are available just yet on Esca Blu, a rep for the team shares with What Now San Diego that guests can expect an all-day menu with daily brunch, weekday happy hour specials, and dinner entrees.
An opening date for Esca Blu is undetermined at this time but is projected for May 2023. For now, catch up with Swami’s Cafe by visiting one of its ten locations across San Diego and North County and enjoy a delicious meal any time of the day at Cocina de Barrio in Hillcrest or Point Loma.
