Owner Jenna Martin Ernst recently applied for a liquor license to open the company’s first brick-and-mortar in a busy part of Hillcrest. Martin Enst tells What Now San Diego that this new concept will be part flower shop, part wine bar. She expects to open the flower portion of the business on November 1. Currently, the owner is working on permitting for the wine bar and expects to open that portion sometime early next year. There is not an exact opening date as of now.

Those curious about what Cork & Stem will offer can check out their website, which features a variety of flowers, wine, and different workshops. On top of a stunning array of flowers and quality local wine, the business also offers catering, where customers can rent the bar and have a beautiful setup of flowers and wine at any upcoming event. Cork & Stem also offers a handful of non-alcoholic options for those who want to enjoy the flowers without feeling pressured to drink.

“We believe that flowers are the ultimate expression of emotion and wine is a powerful way to bring people together,” according to the company’s website. “Our goal is to combine the two in a social, approachable way that encourages expression, creativity, and connection. Flower shops felt intimidating, and wine shops even more so, leading us to look at both industries with a fresh perspective with a goal to combine them into a cohesive experience that is approachable for everyone. At Cork & Stem, we want you to know you always have a place here.”
