A new California-Vietnamese restaurant and cocktail bar is in construction in the Golden Hill neighborhood off of 25th Street and Broadway. Details are minimal at this time but the restaurant has been working through menu choices by operating as a Pop-up Kitchen in test areas like Mira Mesa. On the menu, we’ve seen options like Clams and Mussels in a Coconut Lemongrass broth, Tamarind-Glazed Wings, and Dry-Aged Smoked Duck.

Chef Jon Bautista, former chef of George’s at the Cove in La Jolla will helm the new kitchen at Kingfisher. Owner Michael Lee has confirmed more details and an opening date will be available soon. The restaurant is currently seeking FOH and BOH staff to begin training before releasing details. Keep up to date with news via Facebook and Instagram
