After three years in the Carlsbad community, the growing company will be opening its second tasting room in San Diego.

“As we enter this new decade, we are ecstatic to branch out across our home city to open our second tasting room in San Diego proper,” The Burgeon Beer Company posted on its website.

The Arbor will reportedly be a taproom and scratch kitchen situated on the south end of Little Italy.

On the ground floor of the Savina Building, The Arbor will be a block from Santa Fe Depot and Waterfront Park.

The taproom plans to bring independently and locally brewed craft beer to the neighborhood.

With 17-foot-tall ceilings and layers of greenery and accents of reclaimed wood, it wants to feel like an outdoor beer garden.

“We want it to feel like you’re relaxing with a beer under a lush, leafy canopy,” it says on the website.

The locally-sourced menu will be curated in partnership with The Good Seed Food Company with a scratch kitchen that offers an abundance of organic, vegetarian, and vegan options.

It will reportedly open in spring 2021 at 1326 Kettner Boulevard.

Posted on its Instagram account on Thursday, Burgeon Beer says the bar top at The Arbor was installed this week.

“We are hard at work customizing the interiors of our new location in Little Italy,” it said.

The newly-installed bartop is reportedly from a 425-year-old piece of reclaimed cedar and will be the centerpiece of the incoming taproom.

One of the highlights of the new space will be the trellis, made from cedar that will be suspended from the ceiling of the taproom.
