The concept of American Heroes & Brew started with the idea that a great sandwich, one that people talk about, is a reflection of the community.

“I grew up hearing stories of wandering through cities across America just to find that one spot that locals raved about,” Owner Billy Daniels said in a press release.

He and business partners Kris Wagner and Dale Dyrssen want to build a place that the community will gather, share stories and enjoy great sandwiches together.

Serving famous favorites like the Miami Cubano, Mama’s Meatballs from Brooklyn, and of course, the Philadelphia Cheesesteak, American Heroes & Brew will offer sixteen different sandwiches from across the country and 14 draft beers, including a house lager, brewed by Rouleur Brewing out of Carlsbad. Its beer and wine bar will serve sparkling seltzers, low alcohol Bloody Marys, white and red wines, Sangria and Mimosas.

The restaurant will feature a twenty-seat bar as well as indoor and patio dining located at the Village Faire Shopping Center, in the heart of the Historic Carlsbad Village.

A Facebook page created this January, American Heroes & Brew, has been sending updates of the new restaurant’s progress getting to opening day. In photos shared later in the month, construction of the bar was underway using reclaimed wood.

With the construction of the bar complete, American Heroes & Brew has its sights set on a spring opening day.
