The company is set to replace Helia Brewing, which closed earlier this year after six years, according to San Diego Beer News. This is the latest from Hayden and Kyndall Weir, the former of which was the longtime head brewer at San Marcos’ Dos Desperados Brewery. While the Helia Brewing space only recently closed a few weeks ago, Kyndall tells What Now San Diego that the company hopes to have a grand opening on November 1st with a 90s-themed Halloween party.

This is a full-circle moment for the Weirs, who had one of their first dates in the space they’re currently constructing. The new Weir Beer will have a three-vessel 15-barrel brewhouse with four 15-barrel fermenters and a trio of 30-barrel fermenters, plus a 15-barrel brite tank and a canning line, according to SD Beer News. The new drinking space will have 24 taps, featuring everything from hazy IPAs and West Coast IPAs to Pilsners, hard seltzers, teas, and cocktail-inspired high-alcohol seltzers. Kyndall tells What Now that the taproom will not serve food themselves, but they will have vendors on-site from Tuesday to Saturday.

This will be an excellent space for the new 6,000-square-foot facility, featuring an 800-square-foot patio. Dogleg Brewing and Eppig Brewing’s recently reopened headquarters are less than a block from this site on the southernmost section of Vista, making it a perfect place for north county residents to plan a bar crawl. The new Weir Beer Co. will have an overall theme that focuses on ‘summer in the ’90s’, so customers can expect a beachy and bright space when it opens.
