The company will make its area debut on the ground floor of 2100 Kettner, a six-story mixed-use development in the heart of Little Italy. A franchisee recently submitted a liquor license application to open the well-known San Francisco-based pizzeria. The exact opening date for this location is still to be determined, but this is one of many locations coming to the area. Earlier this year, the company announced plans to open five additional sites in San Diego, including a new location in Carlsbad and La Jolla.

Slice House originated from acclaimed pizzaiolo Tony Gemignani, who operates the foundational Tony’s Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco’s North Beach. Today, the company has over 143 units currently open or in development, with locations currently in California and Nevada and a handful of stadiums and arenas. Slice House by Tony Gemignani has dozens of new locations coming soon, according to its website, with five new sites coming to Arizona, at least 50 opening in California, and more planned for Colorado, Nevada, Tenessee, Texas, and Utah.

The massive expansion comes as no surprise, as Gemignani specializes in various types of pizza, including Neapolitan, York, Sicilian, Detroit, and grandma-style pizzas, and has written several books about the delicious dish. If that wasn’t enough, Gemignani is a four-time Guinness Book of World Record Holder, winner of “The Food Network Challenge,” and the mastermind behind “World Pizza Champions,”

“Slice House has set the standard in the fast-casual segment, offering an extensive menu that features four styles of handmade crust, including traditional New York, homestyle Grandma, rustic Sicilian, and robust Detroit-style pizzas – available by the slice or whole pizza,” according to the company’s website. “The complete menu includes salads, fresh pastas, and wings that can be paired with a selection of local craft beers and premium wines. As 2024’s #1 Overall Brand as honored by Pizza Marketplace’s Top 100 Movers & Shakers, Slice House invites entrepreneurs nationwide to join its rapidly expanding franchise program, carrying forward Tony’s craft through authentic recipes and a flexible, proven business model tailored for diverse dining and delivery platforms.”
