Franchise owner Brian Gibbs tells What Now San Diego they were able to secure the perfect spot for his family’s first location. Snagging up a former ice cream shop just steps from the pier in a high-traffic area was a huge win for the local owner.

“The nautical theme fits really well in San Diego with the beach and the bay,” shares Gibbs, who also notes the need for a healthy alternative in the neighborhood with so much athletic activity in the vicinity.

“The product checks a ton of boxes: all-natural ingredients, no refined sugars, dairy-free, gluten-free, plant-based. It fits in well in Pacific Beach,” explains Gibbs.

The menu at Nautical Bowls has something for everyone with nutrient-rich signature bowls or build-your-own bowls with base options like acai, pitaya, and blue majik, multiple flavors of chia pudding, plus seed or nut toppings, fresh fruit, granola, and nut butter drizzles.

Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Minnesota, Nautical Bowls is a values-driven brand that prioritizes healthy living. The chain continues to have success signing new franchise agreements across the country with 44 locations and counting. According to its website, Nautical Bowls has more California locations planned in Central California and two more stores in San Diego. Gibbs shares they’re scouring the region for the right spots to place his next two Nautical Bowls.

Nautical Bowls Pacific Beach is expected to be open in time for the Fourth of July 2023 holiday. Get to know the menu at Nautical Bowls by visiting their website
