Insomnia Cookies announced earlier this year that it was doubling down on its expansion plans, anticipating growth outside of the US for the first time and adding to its 200+ US locations.
The brand currently operates one location in San Diego’s Pacific Beach area and is now planning to bring more late-night munchies to the Gaslamp Quarter, replacing a former Ike’s Sandwich location on Fifth Avenue.
Founded in 2003 by Seth Berkowitz in his University of Pennsylvania dorm room, Insomnia Cookies is still headquartered in Philadelphia today and maintains its mission to deliver fresh-from-the-oven cookies all day and late into the night.
Now the brand has amassed a cult following through its digital platform and expansive menu of options for the sleepless sweet tooth. The company announced earlier this year that 2023 would introduce the first Insomnia locations in Canada and the UK, along with dozens of new US stores.
Guests can order Insomnia’s signature snacks directly from their website, with boxes loaded with classic cookie flavors like chocolate chunk, red velvet, birthday cake, chocolate peanut butter cup, with vegan and gluten-free options. Beyond cookies, Insomnia Cookies delivers brownies, brookies, ice cream, Cookie’wich ice cream sandwiches, and cookie cakes for any occasion.
