Founder and CEO Briana Valdez brought a taste of her hometown, Austin, to the West Coast in 2013 and opened a HomeState in Hollywood. Since then, HomeState has opened four Los Angeles locations and will now welcome their first spot in San Diego.

HomeState will join the first of two Freeman Collective buildings by CLTVT and Fabric Design. They’ve signed on to the 2,000 square-foot space in the warehouse-style development in the works on Vista Way.

Locals will soon have a chance to try out HomeState’s famed breakfast tacos, migas, and frito pies. Their food is shared as a tribute to both family and Texas, from their award-winning tortilla recipe to their signature coffee roasts and cocktails.

For audiophile taco lovers, HomeState features band tacos created by some of your favorite musicians. You can currently order up “The Ft. Worth” taco inspired by Leon Bridges in their LA outposts.

According to Retail Insite construction has begun on Freeman Collective and the project is expected to finalize in Spring 2022. Restaurants on-site are projected to open their doors Summer 2022. Follow HomeState on Facebook for updates.
