A post on social media reads, “We’re temporarily closing, but fear not-we won’t be gone for long! We’ll post updates as we get closer to our reopening. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve got cookin’!”

SanDiegoVille reports Carbon will adjust its menu offerings but will likely scale back on traditional BBQ, adding new grilled options that will distinguish itself from nearby restaurants like Grand Ole BBQ.

The group also announced on social media this week that they’re now ready to reveal the long-awaited restaurant, bar, and special events venue in their home neighborhood of South Park. What Now San Diego originally covered news of the venue in 2021 before it had a name attached to it.

Formerly the Moose Lodge, MERAKI has been introduced as “South Park’s newest gem” with a literal gem-colored facade on the corner of 30th and Date Streets. While few other details about the menu and interior of MERAKI have been shared, the group promises an opening soon.

Also included on Buona Forchetta’s COMING SOON list, its original Italian cuisine restaurant is nearing opening in San Clemente. Another location of Gelati & Peccati, the Italian gelato and Roman-style pizza concept, is also expected to join Miramar Food Hall in San Clemente in 2024 according to co-owner Luca Zamboni.

Visit the Buona Forchetta website for a list of all of their concepts and stay updated on what’s next for the group.
