Stephanie Eppig, her husband Todd Warshaw, and brewer Clayton LeBlanc launched the brewery in 2016 to pay homage to Eppig’s great-grandfather, who operated a 310,000-square-foot brewery in Brooklyn until the start of prohibition. The company has opened a handful of locations throughout San Diego since its inception. Now, Newport-based West Coast Ventures & Resources has obtained operational control of their brewery and will enter into a strategic partnership with the founders.

“As part of this strategic realignment, the La Jolla location was closed, meanwhile, West Coast Ventures & Resources has inked multiple letters of intent for new Eppig locations in San Diego this spring, with details to be revealed at a later date,” West Coast Ventures & Resources said in a press release. “Eppig Brewing anticipates that this strategic collaboration will propel the brand to new heights, fostering innovation and reaching a broader audience in the craft brewing industry.”

The decision comes from Eppig joining the Mexican restaurant chain QDOBA two years ago and Warshaw experiencing some recent health issues. In their time with the company, they launched in North Park before relocating its headquarters to an approximately 16,000-square-foot building in Vista in 2019. The company also opened a waterfront Biergarten in America’s Cup Harbor on Point Loma’s Shelter Island., followed by its La Jolla tasting room last year. Now, West Coast Ventures & Resources will help the company restrategize as its new operational partnership.
