After recently announcing plans to expand into Vista, Escondido, and Chula Vista, Dutch Bros. Coffee is working on even more sites in San Diego.
Last month, the national coffee chain announced plans for these three sites in the first half of 2024, with a couple more coming by 2025. Now, it’s clearer where those new sites might land. The Oregon-based company recently submitted documents to the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality for new locations in Vista at 1950 Hacienda Drive and National City at 1606 E. Plaza Blvd. There is no exact timeline for these two newly proposed locations, as the applications are still in review.
If approved, Dutch Bros. will open their standalone drive-thru/ walk-up concept up north in the Pavilion Shopping Center, in the same building that currently houses The Indian Store. In South County, the company hopes to move into a busy area near the Bay Plaza shopping center on the southeast side of East Plaza Boulevard and Palm Avenue, in the current home of a Shell gas station.
“Our real estate and development team has a few different factors they use to determine where the shops will be, but it all comes down to being in the best spot to serve our customers quickly!” Dutch Bros spokesperson Madison Fahey tells The Coast News. “Vista is an incredibly welcoming community and has many surrounding areas where we see multiple Dutch Bros being a fit.”
The popular drive-thru coffee company debuted in San Diego County in Oceanside two years ago and opened another in Escondido along East Valley Parkway last year. When these additional five locations open, the area will have seven locations throughout North and South County, offering a variety of delicious coffee and snacks. Considering the company has only been in the area for a couple of years, and there’s this much growth on the horizon, it’s safe to say San Diegans are big fans of Dutch Bros. Coffee.
