Founders Dean and Erika Velasco opened the first location of Deano’s in the former home of The Alibi in late 2021, but now they’re getting ready to expand for the first time. The owners recently applied for a new liquor license and also announced on social media this week that they plan to have a soft opening on March 1st, followed by a grand opening sometime later next month. Customers can expect plenty of beer, wine, pool, and other entertainment when it opens.

Deano’s Pub, located at 5286 Baltimore Drive in La Mesa, is a neighborhood pub with live music, karaoke, and other fun events, such as dirty bingo and a special Valentine’s Day event. While fans of the bar wait for the company’s second location to open sometime next month, guests can visit the original location, which has several exciting events happening throughout the month. These events are expected to happen at the new Santee location when it opens.

“Erika and I set out to find a place where we could create and welcoming and fun environment to share with everyone,” according to the company’s website. “We will strive to make Deano’s Pub that place! We have a huge group of friends and businesses that we support throughout San Diego and big supporters of the LEO community.”
