The authentic Italian restaurant will replace Devine Pastabilities (aka Torpasta) which announced earlier this year that they would be taking a hiatus.

Much like the Torpasta crew, Cucina Caprese frequents local farmers markets and fires up their pizza oven at neighborhood pop-up events and locations like Deft Brewing and Quigley Fine Wines, as well as private catering parties and events.

Cucina Caprese serves authentic Italian cuisine reminiscent of Chef Giuseppe Monaco’s hometown of Capri, Italy. Their pizza is prepared in the Neapolitan way, in a wood-fired oven, made fresh to order. Beyond pizza, their menu has lots of fresh seafood options, antipasti dishes, and pasta made with seasonal ingredients.

What Now San Diego was unable to reach a rep for Cucina Caprese for an update on their opening timeline. A job posting suggests they’re currently building their team ahead of the restaurant’s opening. Stay updated by following their Facebook account.
