Areas USA Chosen To Operate Five Restaurants Recently Approved In New Terminal 1

Latest Airport Dining Options to Include Pizza, Mediterranean Cuisine, and a Brand New Concept by Local Skateboarding Star

The San Diego Airport Advisory Board recently shared details of the newest restaurants to join the new Terminal 1. Areas USA, LLC was approved to operate a set of five restaurants, including some well-known San Diego eateries plus an exciting new concept backed by San Diego’s own Tony Hawk.

Part of the group selected to install in the 32,000 square feet of food and beverage space include Mr. Moto Pizza, 900A Tony Hawk Public House, Carnitas Snack Shack,  Luna Grill, and SIP Wine & Beer.

Areas USA, LLC is part of a global business specializing in travel dining and retail. Areas operates 1,900 locations in 10 countries. Its US operations are based in Miami, Florida, with the company operating 136 restaurants in US airports like Los Angeles International, Chicago’s O’Hare, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, and Detroit McNamara.

Notable new spots include 900A Tony Hawk Public House, a nod to Hawk’s revered 900 trick. The 4,712-square-foot bar and restaurant will reportedly offer a regionally-specific menu of Mexican cuisine in partnership with renowned chef Claudette Zepeda

Travelers will also get a chance to experience SIP Wine & Beer, with a 1,521-square-foot, circular bar. The Escondido-based taproom specializes in local, women-owned, and BIPOC-owned brands in the craft beer and wine space. 

The shell of the new T1 building is due to be completed in early 2025. Plan outlines state that 900A Tony Hawk Public House, Luna Grill, Mr. Moto Pizza, Carnitas Snack Shack, and SIP Wine & Beer are projected to open in 2028
