The well-known seafood restaurant has already moved nearby into the former home of Cerveza Jack’s after its lease was set to end at the end of the year. Now, Verant Group co-founder Joe Vaught and Trilogy Real Estate Management President Howard Greenberg will be taking over the space, according to SanDiegoVille. The space will be transformed into a new Mexican tacos and tequila restaurant and bar concept called Hasta Mañana Cantina, anticipated to open next summer,

The Verant Group is responsible for some of San Diego’s best concepts, including Barleymash, Sandbar, The Smoking Gun, Tavern at the Beach, Spill The Beans Coffee + Bagel, and Mavericks Beach Club. Vaught began to branch out from the group in 2021 when he purchased the 3,854 square-foot building previously occupied by The Patio on Lamont restaurant in Pacific Beach to open a second Luce Bar & Kitchen, but plans have yet to come to fruition.

Greenberg, on the other hand, has partnered with the group in the past to help open Barleymash and Smoking Gun. After working in real estate, he launched Trilogy Real Estate Management, Inc. in December 1990. He currently manages over 1.5 million square feet of retail, office, residential, commercial, hotel, and mixed-use projects, primarily in Downtown San Diego, valued at over $4 million. He and Vaught will now open their next venture in a prime downtown San Diego location.
