Owner Juan Carlos Gomez appears to be in the process of taking over the space that is currently home to Tachido Sushi and, before that, Sabuku Sushi, according to SanDiegoVille. Gomez tells What Now San Diego that the deal has yet to be finalized, but it is being reported that this will not be another branch of El Agave. Until the deal closes, there is no exact timeline for this new concept. If it’s anything like El Agave, customers can expect delicious food and quality service.

Gomez opened El Agave Tequileria at the entrance to San Diego’s historic Old Town in 1996 before expanding to a second location in Del Mar Plaza in 2014, which closed only two years later. The restaurateur also owned and operated the short-lived Iberico Spanish Bistro in La Jolla before closing it in 2014. Now, nearly ten years after his attempted expansion throughout San Diego, the business owner is getting ready to expand again with a brand new concept in a busy area.

This will be a perfect location for the new restaurant, sitting around the corner of Adams Avenue and 30th Street. The new concept should see plenty of people entering its doors from local foot traffic and other businesses, such as An’s Dry Cleaning across the street and a handful of bars along 30th Street, including Air Conditioned Lounge, Polite Provisions, and Swan Bar. These businesses will all be a great place to visit after dinner at this new concept.
