Previously, What Now San Diego reported on the company partnering with OneV Capital Partners to grow the brand across Southern California, but few details followed. Now it’s getting clear as to when the first location will be and where else Nobibi plans to expand to within San Diego. OneV Capital Partners’ Managing Principal Brian Nguyen tells What Now San Diego that the new Convoy location is set to open in early Summer 2024, possibly as soon as the beginning of June.

Nguyen tells What Now San Diego that the new Nobibi Convoy will be a corporation-owned and operated enterprise under the direction of Tyna Tran. When this location opens, customers can expect a variety of offerings, including the renowned Nobibi signature soft gelato and authentic Hong Kong-style egg waffles, alongside a diverse selection of beverages spanning tea, coffee, fruit blends, sodas, and ice-blended concoctions.

“With a background in hospitality management and a keen understanding of consumer preferences, Tyna has successfully guided the Nobibi brand through strategic expansions and innovative menu additions,” according to the company’s website. “Under her visionary leadership, Nobibi has not only become a beloved local hub but has also embraced sustainable practices, sourced ethically, and promoted community engagement.”

This is just the beginning for Nobibi in San Diego. Following the inauguration of the new Convoy outlet, Nobibi San Diego aims to embark on an expansion initiative, with plans to establish at least two additional stores across North County and extend southward to Chula Vista/National City. The exact timeline for these locations is unknown, considering the new Convoy Nibibi was initially expected to open late last year.

“With OneV Capital, they are able to license Nobibi out to other entrepreneurs who have been dreaming of owning their own business,” the website continues. “With their extensive real estate portfolio and connections with other landlords, they believe that they can bring Nobibi to the next level.”
