North Park is gaining a new restaurant and bar with the entrance of seafood spot Sea Tavern, replacing End Zone Sports Bar & Grill. While the original business listing popped up in December 2021, Sea Tavern recently filed for a food processing permit in late December 2022 for their spot on University Avenue nearby The Seventh House.

Behind the project looks to be Derek “D.J.” Mull from La Mesa’s Riviera Supper Club and Chef Chris Casinger of Clique Hospitality and Sycuan’s Bull & Bourbon Steakhouse.

While few details are known about the restaurant, Casinger’s social media shares a few hints on the menu. Featuring local, sustainable seafood and locally sourced bread from Chef William Eick’s Hokkaido Bread Company, the chef is testing fish sandwiches and lobster rolls for their upcoming launch.

What Now San Diego has reached out for information regarding an opening date for Sea Tavern and will update as more information becomes available. For now, follow Sea Tavern on Instagram to stay connected.
