The company recently submitted documents to open a second location in a busy Food4Less-anchored shopping center across the street from a massive outdoor complex that includes a Sportsplex USA and Cameron Family YMCA. Co-owner Justin Frank tells What Now San Diego that they expect to open the new location around September 2024. When it opens, it will be a dual-concept restaurant where Bread and Cheese Eatery And Breakfast Burritos will operate under the same roof.

The expansion is impressive for Justin Frank and his business partner Devin Gneitling, who started as a food tent at the North Park Farmers Market in late 2017. The two were inspired to launch the company after seeing vendors doing well at a music festival and launched the business three months later. During the time that followed, the duo saw a lot of growth and started 2020 with two brands, five mobile operations, and two brick-and-mortar locations before COVID-19.

Unfortunately, COVID got the best of the two brick-and-mortar restaurants, but Bread and Cheese came out stronger in 2021, landing the concessionaire contract for the Moonlight Amphitheatre from the City of Vista. In October of 2023, they opened a dual-concept restaurant in Oceanside at 1904 South Coast Highway, adding a breakfast concept that focuses just on breakfast burritos called “And Breakfast Burritos.” Today, the owners are looking to expand their brick-and-mortar locations while continuing to cater and, eventually, franchise.
