Valley Farm Market looks to be adding another project to its portfolio of San Diego locations. Updated site plans by commercial real estate company Flocke & Avoyer have bookmarked a future market tenant to join Del Mar Plaza. A newly filed alcoholic beverage license places the family-owned butcher shop and specialty grocer in the seaside community, neighboring businesses like An’s Gelato, Monarch, and Tamarindo.

Valley Farm Market in Spring Valley has been in operation since 1956, and in La Jolla since 2019. The markets are known for their butcher shops, prepared foods, and specialty BBQ among other gourmet offerings. The grocer is dedicated to supporting local farmers and brands, also carrying a wide selection of San Diego craft beers.

It’s unclear at this time what exactly the business will do inside the two street-level suites with a combined footprint of nearly 5,000 square feet.

In recent years, the business has added new concepts under its umbrella like Gathering Grounds cafe and juice bar, and the Mount Laguna nature retreat called The Outpost by Valley Farm, featuring a restaurant, bar, and restored cabins for a glamping-style excursion just outside of the city.

An opening timeline for Valley Farm Market in Del Mar is unclear in the early stages of planning the new spot. For more information, visit the Valley Farm Market website
