Owner Hannah McClelland built the business through her love of food and interest in building unique flavors using seasonal ingredients. Now her clients range from busy moms to high-performance athletes.

After gaining a client who was a professional athlete, word spread among other NFL and NBA players in need of flavorful meal options that matched their unique dietary needs.

McClelland tells What Now San Diego, “Meal prep can be very bland. You think it’s just chicken and broccoli but I like to use colorful options that are more full flavor. We eat with our eyes first so it has to look appetizing.”

Along with looking appetizing, The Harvest Honey dishes often ditch the ugly plastic meal-prep containers for more sustainable glass ones. McClelland wants to reduce plastic and offers a recycling program. While she delivers the weeks worth of meals, she’ll also pick up the empty containers to be re-used in order to reduce waste.

Your prepped menu changes week to week. Some menu highlights include the gluten-free Almond-Crusted Chicken, Salmon with brussels sprouts and a balsamic reduction glaze, and McClelland says, “You can never go wrong with salads,” these salads are topped with pomegranate, sweet potato, and beets. The Harvest Honey has you covered for breakfast, lunch, dinner, without skimping on sweet treats. For dessert, you may get a banana chocolate chip muffin or chocolate glazed donuts, all paleo, grain-free, and dairy-free.

The Harvest Honey has plans for growth with a potential to ship for those who are outside the delivery radius. For now, follow on Instagram for menu updates and delivery requests.
