“Over the last 24 months, we have seen San Diego become one of the strongest retail markets,” said Ward Kampf, president of Northwood Retail in a statement. “This growth is driven by the demographics of the community, and the combination of life science, technological innovation and entrepreneurship in the area. The dynamic location of The Forum Carlsbad and the fundamentals of North County are attracting top-tier brands and forward-thinking, digitally native concepts like the ones we are proud to announce today.”

Laguna Beach-based gorjana, a coastal-inspired jewelry brand, will open a 1,635-square-foot store next to Apple on May 2. The space will be outfitted with signature details reminiscent of the Pacific Ocean with a bright, airy, white-washed look, live greenery and custom art reflective of the coastline. The store will include a new, expanded display of the jewelry collection, as well as a sitting area.

“Just an hour south of our studio, Carlsbad is a fitting location for our Southern California-based brand,” said Gorjana and Jason Reidel, co-founders of gorjana. “We were receiving multiple requests for a store in North San Diego from our customers in the area and felt that this location offered the best opportunity. Carlsbad is a cool beachside town that’s experiencing incredible growth that we’re excited to be a part of, and The Forum features a great mix of retailers we know and love.”

Just in time for the hot summer months, YETI will open its first California location at The Forum in June adjacent to lululemon. YETI is a global designer, retailer, and distributor of innovative outdoor products. From coolers and drinkware to backpacks and bags, YETI products are built to meet the unique and varying needs of diverse outdoor pursuits, whether in the remote wilderness, at the beach, or anywhere life takes its customers.

Additionally, The Forum recently celebrated the opening of Allbirds and Warby Parker. Allbirds, located near the Apple store, is a sustainable clothing and footwear brand that makes its products using all natural materials. Warby Parker, next to gorjana, is a retailer of high-quality, affordable prescription glasses, contact lenses and sunglasses.

Slated to open in May, Jay Bird’s Chicken, a Long Beach-founded restaurant specializing in fried chicken, will setup shop next to Geppetto’s Toy Shop. Popular menu items include a variety of chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, chicken & waffles, spicy fries and an array of sauces.
