Moniker Group owns and operates more than a dozen well-known venues and business entities like Moniker General retail shop at Liberty Station and cocktail bar in Liberty Public Market, along with an interior design and fabrication studio, construction company, plus event design and management teams.

Founded in 2021 by local aerospace engineer Alex Bock, The Craft Creamery was inspired by Bock’s appreciation for craft beer bars whose tap lists stoplight the industry’s top talents. Offering “scoops on tap,” the ice cream shop serves flavors from independent creameries across the U.S. including Molly Moon Ice Cream, Chicago’s Petersen’s Ice Cream, and Idaho born Reed’s Dairy.

“The opportunity to champion small batch artisans from all over the U.S. and simultaneously offer San Diegans something totally unique and unprecedented in terms of a neighborhood scoop shop is what sealed the deal for me,” says Moniker Group CEO Ryan Sisson on the acquisition.

Under Moniker, the Craft Creamery will maintain its rotating lineup of carefully sourced flavors from the nation’s top creameries and will revamp their 1,700 square foot property to add Moniker Coffee Co. to the site. The marriage of brands means an expanded café menu, introducing affogatos, milkshakes, floats, and even collaborations with other San Diego restaurants.

Expanding Moniker Coffee Co. beyond their flagship spot in Moniker General is part of the group’s plan to grow the brand in 2023, introducing several new brick-and-mortar locations.

Interior and exterior upgrades are planned for The Craft Creamery but will not interrupt service. Moniker Coffee Co. is expected to offer a full-service craft coffee experience at the Point Loma site by February 2023. Online ordering, pickup, and curbside delivery will be offered at the location and will later offer grab-and-go pints of hand-scooped ice cream. For more information, visit the Moniker Coffee Co.
