“As far as the location and opening, we don’t know what it’s going to look like we are still designing,” Prime Steak Concepts Chief Brand Officer Oliver Badgio said. “But we love the Del Mar-area and are extremely excited about it.”

Steak 48 serves high-quality steak and seafood with a diverse menu that includes prime steaks, a fresh assortment of seafood and inventive and classic side dishes and appetizers.

Most of its beef comes from Midwestern farms in Michigan and Wisconsin as well as premium Wagyu beef from the Mishima Reserve, according to its website.

The raw bar includes colossal shrimp, Alaskan king crab, Maine lobster and East and West Coast oysters.

Already in Charlotte, Philadelphia, Chicago and Houston, Badgio thinks San Diego will be a great next home for the steakhouse.

“San Diego will have the feel of Steak 48 and will be unique to the market and something that is complimentary to the area,” he said.

Though the restaurant can be found in these various cities, Badgio said each one supports and becomes a part of the area they are in.

“We want to feel like a local part of the community,” he said. “It’s not just traditional steak. It goes far behind that.”

Going into the Del Mar Highlands Town Center, at 3435 Del Mar Heights Rd., Steak 48 will be joining Brewers Deck, Vietnamese Eatery Xin Chao and Ceviche Craft

Steak 48 will be located in suite 21 of the center, in a 6,000 square foot space, according to leasing documents filed with the city.
